Wills and Powers of Attorney Lawyer

The head of Carmichael Law, Barry J. Carmichael, drafts wills and powers of attorney. He will advise on which of Ontario's two kinds of powers of attorney — a continuing power of attorney for property or a power of attorney for personal care — is appropriate given the client's specific situation. In most cases, both documents will be recommended.

Barry encourages people to have a will and powers of attorney for property and power of attorney for personal care. Barry often prepares powers of attorney for clients who choose to make known their health and medical care preferences, and appoint an individual who will make choices on their behalf in the event they are incapacitated. A power of attorney for property, in either a limited or ongoing capacity, is also an option. A will is an effective tool for clients who want to ensure their property is distributed as they wish upon their passing. Barry can advise on what documents are appropriate depending on each client's goals and concerns.

In addition to our extensive family law practice, we also prepare Wills, Power of Attorneys and probate estates (letters of administration). We welcome your business and the opportunity to serve you.
